We’re excited to announce that Carly Smith will be joining Make The Turn as our new Marketing Partnerships Manager, officially starting January 1st. As our company continues to grow and expand our footprint across Metro Detroit, Carly will play a key role in strengthening and advancing the long-term partnerships that are central to our work.

Carly brings a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Media Studies from the University of Michigan, along with hands-on experience in marketing, content planning, digital communication, and campaign execution. Her background as a Marketing Coordinator at Friedman Real Estate and her freelance social media work give her strong insight into building brand presence, managing timelines, and supporting ongoing marketing initiatives.

"I’m grateful for the opportunity to join Make The Turn and be part of a team that truly prioritizes connection, collaboration, and growth. I’m excited to build meaningful partnerships and contribute to expanding the company’s impact across the community!"

She has also collaborated closely with creative teams and understands the fast-moving nature of modern content production — making her an excellent fit for this partnership-driven role.

Carly’s Role at Make The Turn

1. Managing Key Partnerships

Carly will serve as a primary point of contact for several of Make The Turn’s core partnerships. She will guide communication, coordinate marketing initiatives, organize deliverables, and ensure each relationship continues to move forward with clarity, momentum, and strong follow-through.

2. Networking & Community Engagement

A major part of Carly’s role will involve representing Make The Turn at select networking events, business gatherings, and community opportunities throughout Metro Detroit. Her goal is simple: help build awareness, form meaningful relationships, and strengthen our presence in the region. This is not tied to quotas — it’s about visibility, connection, and long-term partnership development.

3. Professional Growth Lane

As she settles in, Carly will also explore a third focus area that aligns with her interests — whether that’s behind-the-camera work, on-camera content creation, event development, outreach, workflow improvements, or another specialty she wants to grow within. We’re committed to supporting her development and helping her carve out a lane that fits both her strengths and the future direction of Make The Turn.

A Note from Co-Founder Kyle Bogenschutz

"We’re excited to welcome Carly to Make The Turn. She’s the kind of person who builds trust quickly, stays organized, and keeps relationships moving forward. We can’t wait for her to start meeting our great partners, getting out in the community, and helping us continue to grow our network across Metro Detroit!"

We’re excited to have Carly joining us and look forward to the impact she’ll make as we continue to grow into 2026 and beyond.
